StreetQuake was a success

StreetQuake was a success; it happened and in the end I didn't do it alone. We had 2 excellent speakers. Tim Lewis & Queen Sheba. First Tim shared his testimony and explained how he has been been blessed since changing his life around. He is definitely a man of focus and a word from God. Queen Sheba arrived with energy and left the audience with some of her fire. Her original poetry is her story and she's sticking to it. The food was great! The weather was perfect! I'm looking forward to next year. I want and need to touch more youth. Thank you to all individuals & businesses who played a part! Wanna take part in 2008? This week has been wonderful. I've made contact with some many people by phone, in writing, and in person. It seemed that I would be working on this project alone. God has touched many people's hearts to grab onto the cause of empowering the youth and promoting a gang-free community. Things are not as I expected or hoped for; but even better. There's no stress. I get a boost out of making contacts, sharing my vision, my work, & changing lives. I am sooooooooo excited about how big and effective StreetQuakewill be. Hope you can join us May 19 2007!

Why I care so much about youth?

I'm not yet a parent, but I care about youth. I care what interests youth, especially teens. I care about the pressures that they face whether by choice or circumstance. I've worked with youth, even since age 17. I know what mess I have gotten myself into that could have lead to death, pregnancy, insanity, and addictions. Pressure is a thing that never goes away. Teens feel it the most; and teenage years are a time that coping with pressures can greatly shape the rest of our life. Don't get me wrong, at any point and any person with a sound mind can decide to change even at a later age. Sorry for the cliche, but you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I'd rather water the young mind, than build with old bricks. My latest project for teens is StreetQuake.
